There have been three fatal shootings at schools across the country in the last week. Concluding that that means the next one will be in Bismarck - or even that there will ever be one here - is illogical. Nobody is saying there is a likelihood of violence in the schools at Bismarck and Mandan.
The Monroe County Legislature will not be taking any further action where the Monroe County Water Authority is concerned, at least not now. Despite objections by Democrats, it will instead wait for the outcome of a probe by a special counsel appointed by the board last week.
A man shot on Rochester's east side Wednesday night was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The shooting took place on Bobrich Drive off Blossom Road.
The state trooper shot in the search for Ralph “Bucky” Phillips in August is getting better. Trooper Donald Baker is able to get out of bed and walk again.
Rochester City School District Superintendent Manuel Rivera's planned move to Boston became official Wednesday night. Boston's public school board voted unanimously, naming Rivera as its next superintendent. Rivera announced he was the lone finalist for the job last month.
